Data collection is an important tool for evaluating where students are at as a whole class. I think I would use data collection as an high school English teacher to evaluate whether students understood the reading. At the beginning of class, I would ask three different open-ended questions and the students can choose which one to answer. This form of surveying will tell me what the class got from the reading, what interested them, what they didn't like, etc. This will 1. keep them accountable to do the reading and 2. provide me, as the teacher, data.

My classmates' blogs were incredibly interesting. I really liked reading about what people got out of the weekly assignments, especially during the Powerpoint assignments. There were several topics that I would not have thought of. The Web Design assignment was also fun to get to know who is in the class, even though some of the information is obviously fictionalized. The creative techniques of everyone in this class is impressive!

A paragraph on what technology-related skill you would like to learn next, why, and how you will achieve this goal. One technology-related skill I would like to learn next is more about utilizing Artificial Intelligence and language processing software. I find this technology incredibly interesting, and could be very useful for learning about human language development. By replicating this with software, we could implement this software in the classroom as tutoring or learning partners. While some people think that AI would be replacing learning, I think it would make many students excited to learn, as we already use digital technology to help kids learn online. I will likely do some research and keep updated with this new technology.
